Solution Background

To gather background and feedback for our solution, we interviewed students who currently utilize UT's Office of Disability Services to determine what contributes to a low-stress, distraction-free testing environment. We learned that the ODS provides a test cubicle:

  • For individual use

  • High walls to block distractions

  • Plain, gray walls

So, Wingineers Testing Co. chose to implement a modified design for schools to implement on a larger scale to improve the testing environment for every student through the Test Box. The materials chosen are based on standard office cubicles as well as office wall dividers, with the intent of reducing noise distraction. Current design uses high pressure laminate. The Test Box uses a modified material similar to high pressure laminate, chipboard covered in a thin layer of foam on either side of the board.

These modifications allow Wingineers to produce this product on a large scale and keep it affordable for clients.
