FAQ

  • What need are you addressing?

    • There is a need for the high stress of testing environments for standardized tests in high schools to be alleviated to give students better chances of scoring well on the test and accurately showing their knowledge. Current testing environments are too distracting and there are not enough resources to test students in individual classrooms.

  • What is your innovation?

    • Our design successfully allows schools to test a large group of students while also allowing each student their own private, distraction-free testing environment.

  • Who benefits and how?

    • Students in Tennessee benefit because this new, more private and personal testing environment allows them to focus better on the test in front of them.

  • What is the cost and who pays?

    • The Test Box is similar to an office cubicle, and according to the Wingineers' cost analysis, the Box will cost around $300 each, roughly the cost of three four-foot-tall office room dividers. Each county's School Board will pay to have the Test Boxes placed inside each school that chooses to have them. Wingineers Testing Co. also works directly with schools to fill orders.

  • How will you do it?

    • We will use the same technique as office dividers, which are fold-able due to plastic hinges on the sides. The material will be recycled chipboard with thin foam padding on either side, which will be thick enough to provide privacy and solitude to the student using it. We will pitch the idea to various county school boards, specifically the Knox County School Board, and various schools for sales.
